Class 5: Intro To Programming

In this online coding class, the live Coding Coach will help participants expand their coding skills by breaking down complex shapes into simpler parts and creating programs to complete images using sequential steps. Participants will also be introduced to new coding blocks and outcomes that encourage creativity and problem-solving.
 

Class 6: Intro To Loops

In this online coding class, the live Coding Coach will introduce participants to loops, a powerful programming construct, using the familiar set of "robot" programming instructions. Through critical thinking and problem-solving, participants will identify patterns of repetition in their peer's robot movements and learn how to simplify those repeated patterns using loops. By the end of the lesson, participants will be able to identify repeated patterns in code and write instructions that use loops to repeat those patterns efficiently.

Class 7: Looped Commands I

In this online coding class, the live Coding Coach will help participants delve deeper into the concept of loops and learn how to implement them using block code.  Through a series of engaging activities, participants will increase their understanding of how loops are essential in programming the automation of repetitive tasks as well as making code more efficient and concise. By the end of the lesson, participants will not only master the use of loops but also understand the benefits of using loop structures instead of manual repetition.

Class 8: Looped Commands II

In this online coding class, the live Coding Coach will guide participants through various scenarios where new patterns will emerge, prompting them to employ creativity and logical thinking to determine which code needs to be repeated and how many times. By the end of the lesson, participants will be proficient in employing a combination of sequential and looped commands, identifying opportunities to simplify repetitive actions using loops, and writing programs that effectively utilize loops to streamline tasks.
